Wedding Week: The Venue- Moon River Ranch

For me, finding the perfect venue was one of the most crucial aspects of planning the whole wedding. It sets the style in which every other detail and decoration will accentuate. When you find the “one”–the place in which you will be marrying the love of your life– you just know. That is exactly how I felt when I came to Moon River Ranch for the first time. It was everything I wanted, everything I hoped for… a place that I thought I would never find on our budget.

First stop… The Ceremony.

Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I can completely envision my wedding day in a cute little old white country church.

Moon River has a historic hundred year old chapel. With RED doors and a steeple bell tower. I was already in love.

The chapel had old wood floors and small pews. Since we were now having a “destination” wedding…we decided on having an intimate ceremony with family and close friends. The size of the chapel was perfect for us… big enough to hold everyone, small enough to feel intimate.

I just love knowing that we were being married in a historical place where people worshiped the Lord. There is just something so beautiful about that knowledge.

Next stop: The Reception.

I just loved the Western decor. I really felt like I did not have to “create” an atmosphere as I did with so many other venues I looked at in California. While I appreciate the blank slate of an empty room… my budget appreciated a barn filled with decor that I absolutely love and don’t have to pay to change. Seriously, the wagon wheel tables? I couldn’t even imagine covering that up with a tablecloth.

Next stop: The Lodge
