Wedding Week: Bacherlorette Night and a Surprise

header1

I guess it may be an understatement to say I’m not the “traditional” bachelorette party type person. I certainly enjoy a night out with the girls… and that is just what was up Jessica’s sleeve…

A night out to my favorite restaurant Lucille’s (the best BBQ west of the Mississippi… or so the saying goes) and a trip to Los Angeles to see Wicked at the Pantageas theater. What a great way to spend a night out with the girls!

Nothing like good ol’ car pics…

on our way to the play.

We arrived in LA!

What a show! I thought this was one of the best plays I’ve ever seen!

Not that I’m so cultured and get out to see plays often… but still. haha

It was a fun night out with the girls… just my style!

The weekend after…

I was informed I had another surprise.

My first hint?

I was blindfolded over my sunglasses the second I got into the car.

We arrived at our destination.

I stumbled out of the car and immediately smelled fried chicken.

We drove all this way for KFC?

No, but we were in the KFC parking lot.

I have the nose of a blood hound.

Through the parking lot I go.

I look like I’m being held for ransom.

12

I immediately smell a mixture of old carpet, feet and snack bar.

This place has a very distinct smell…

I am pretty sure we are…

13

At the Rollerskating Rink!

15

haha! I am right!

A surprise going away party!!! Aaaahhhh!!

How fun is this?!

You see, I was not only getting married… I was also moving 3 states away.

For the first time in my life, I would be living farther than 30 minutes away from my family and friends.

They were going to celebrate my leaving in style…

4-wheeled, retro, hokey pokey, speed skate, backward skate, red light green light, limbo, disco ball and strobe light style! Maybe even a little Vanilla Ice (echo…ice ice baby)… and bow wow wow yippee yo yippee A… style!

YES!

Grab those glorious four wheels!

Be careful little Ella. Grandma and Grandpa might run you over while speed skating out of control. haha

31

Yes. As a matter of fact those are my parents speed skating… and then whipping each other around the corner.

32

I was certain someone was going to break a hip or snap an ankle before the night was through. Just give it time. With the right song, the right twirling, spinning disco lights on the floor and all logical
