The Holidays

Time to play catch up again. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Consider this a holiday smorgasbord! Enjoy!

We traveled to Southern California to my parents’ house for Thanksgiving…and spent the holiday with my family. :) Jon had to go Virginia for the two weeks following Thanksgiving to get his Aircraft Carrier Qualification for the SuperHornet… so I decided that Layla and I would stay at my parents’ house and spend that time visiting with family.

My Grandfather, sister and nephew…and Layla and me.

My brother and nephew in the background. haha

Christmas Ornament Party

During my stay, I was able to attend the annual Christmas party that my sister, Jessica, hosted. It is a perfect excuse to take time out of the holiday hustle and bustle to celebrate (and relax!) with girlfriends. Everyone brings a treat and an ornament to exchange. Needless to say, there was a whole lot of eating going on. ๐Ÿ˜‰

The ornament that I made and brought to exchange:

I found a great tutorial from Elsie Marley for the half eaten gingerbread man ornament here. :)

The girls:

My Mom, Sisters and Me…with Layla and Owen.

I am SO WHITE in the following picture that it looked like the girls were taking a picture with the ghost of Christmas present. Seriously. I had to convert it toย grey-scale in order to just see me. Don’t worry, I asked Santa to put some self tanner in my stocking.

Anyhoo. Carlie, Angela, Me and Nikki. We have all been friends since high school. (Angela and I have been friends since 2nd grade. That’s a LONG time!)

Yes. Intermission. Because we need some Layla cuteness. haha

Layla in a bonnet.

Layla acting surprised like she didn’t know I was taking her picture.

And then there is Layla being a little Angel. ๐Ÿ˜‰

She HAD to go see Santa. ๐Ÿ˜‰

When we got there she was still asleep… and I didn’t have the heart to wake her up. Santa was a good sport. :)

Layla was captivated by all of the presents… or, more accurately, colorful wrapping paper. And, NO, those are not all for her. We spent Christmas at my family’s house… and those gifts are for everyone in the family. But I will admit, my family did spoil her. ๐Ÿ˜‰

A happy little girl.

Waiting to open presents. I love that she was leaning on her hand on her own. And I love her double chin even more. :)

She got a puppet.

King Castlehoff or something. But he looks like King Friday from the Neighborhood of Make Believe (from Mr. Rogers)… so we will stick with that. Layla was obviously not impressed with titles. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Family Pictures:

She just couldn’t stay awake. It’s so tough being a little Peanut. Look at those lips. :)

The WHOLE family:

In case I haven’t made it clear… I LOVE all of my readers and am so humbled that people read my blog… especially after all of my hiatuses this year… first with our move from Texas to California… and our never-ending home renovation… to adjusting to our new life with the baby. I appreciate you all and wish I could send each of you a Christmas card. :) Except I don’t have your addresses. And maybe you wouldn’t want a Christmas card anyway. haha

So here is our Christmas card. ย Just pretend it was delivered by the mail man.

In fact, pretend it was a speedy delivery by Mr. McFeely himself!

We combined our Christmas Card and Birth Announcement into one card. Is a November baby stretching it a bit? haha

Love you all and hope that you had a very Merry Christmas!
