The Peanut Gender Reveal.

Ok, so I broke down and did it.

I went to an ultra sound place and found out Peanut’s gender.

I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to know.

Why?

Absolutely no justifiable reason…other than the suspense was killing me.

I was already in Southern California for my sister’s baby shower (post to follow)… and they have these ultra sound shops all over the place down there. Apparently I am not alone in wanting to know the gender, see my peanut wiggle around and can’t wait for another doctor’s appointment for this to happen. haha

So, (with Jon’s blessing, of course) I went.

Me getting my ultra sound while on the phone with Jon… so we could hear the news together. 😉

And here is what we saw…

Little Fingers…

…and Little Toes.

And a precious little skeleton face… which the technician assured me this was normal.

Yes, I asked if I was going to birth Jack Skellington. I needed to know.

And, after several looks to be sure…

THIS!

We’re having a baby girl!!

I was shocked!

I was so convinced that we were having a boy…

and I am so excited for a little girl! (I would have been excited for a boy, too… it didn’t matter either way to me)

It’s our little Layla Mae. :)

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

As for me… I’m feeling a lot better now that I’m in my 2nd trimester. I have my appetite back (mostly) and the majority of the nausea has subsided. I feel Layla’s little flutters often now… which is a feeling that I don’t think will ever get old. I still am baffled by the idea that there is a living human inside my tummy. I can’t wrap my mind around that. haha I also can’t wrap my mind around the fact that we will have a baby in 4 months. So exciting and so terrifying… all rolled into one. 😉

More than anything, I am just thankful…

thankful that we are so blessed…that there haven’t been any complications so far…that the Lord is trusting us with one of His children.  What a gift. :)

“Bye Bye,” says Layla.
