Packers.

I love them.

LOVE ‘EM! LOVE ‘EM! LOVE ‘EM!

…even if you do feel a little weird being there and not being allowed help of do anything.

You feel kind of lazy. Not kind of… REALLY lazy.

But who am I kidding? I’d just be in their way.

They know efficiency on a whole other level.

Day 1 of packers is DONE. Day 2 (tomorrow) . Then the moving truck comes on Wednesday.

And after that… a long drive to California.

Last night was my first experience with “morning sickness”… which has hardly subsided since.

I go back and forth between not wanting to even look at food to wanting to order a pizza…stat. (which I did. haha)

Eating seems to curb the nauseousness… for a short while anyway.

I’m not looking forward to the 23+ hours in the car at the end of the week…mostly because being in the car when you feel nauseous is horrible…but also because I forgot my camera at my parents’ house in CA while we were on our house hunting trip. A cross country adventure without pictures?? Who am I kidding… I will probably be curled up in a ball trying to not throw up. haha

I’ll get through it, I’m sure. :)

Hope everyone is having a good Monday! :)

  • Melissa….those boxes look awesome! Many years ago we moved around a lot for Steve’s flying career, and not once did we have movers! That’s awesome, and I’m so happy for you.

When I was pregnant with Jeven, I had pretty bad all-day sickness for a short while (at the time it felt like it lasted forever though!) anyhow, I found something called Seabands at the drugstore. They’re little bands that hit pressure points on the inside of the wrist. They’re for motion sickness, but they actually can help with morning sickness. At first I felt weird wearing them and thought they looked funny, but once I realized they helped, I didn’t care what they looked like :)
The only time I took them off was to shower, and then I’d start feeling sick again, so I took fast showers and then put ‘em right back on! Might want to give them a whirl :)
Good luck on the move and congrats again on your pregnancy! I’m so happy for you!

  • Well Hello Melissa! My goodness you have a lot happening!! Congratulations on the baby!! How wonderful! I just know you are going to be the best Mama ev-ah!! I can’t wait to see how the Lord blesses you in the months to come. And oh my…you are moving back to California…my home state! I’m sure with the baby coming you are wanting to get settled. I will be praying that the Lord will direct your steps to a home with that “just right” feeling. Wherever that may be, I know you will turn your house into a warm and cozy, cheerful and loving home! Bless you honey! You are in my prayers!
