In the blogLight: Sugar Pie Farmhouse

Welcome to the 1st edition of In the blogLight!

I know what y’all are thinking: Duh. She is everybody’s favorite.

But let me explain.

I was talking with a fellow blogger friend the other day… and she had asked me to name a few of my favorite blogs. Of course I responded with Sugar Pie Farmhouse and (gasp!) she had never heard of it. WhAT!

I thought everyone knew about Sugar Pie Farmhouse.  I have learned not to assume anymore.

If you are reading this and haven’t been over there, I insist you pay Aunt Ruthie a visit immediately. Go…go! You will be tickled pink with delight, I assure you.

How I found it:

Believe it or not, this was the first blog I ever read… back when it was “Warm Pie, Happy Home”.  At the time, I really didn’t even know what a blog was. I stumbled across a barn sale by Heather Bullard in Romantic Homes magazine. I was astonished that there was a barn sale near my house so I looked it up online. There were lots of pictures of the sale and links to a few blogs (which, of course, I HAD to click on)…one of the blogs being Warm Pie, Happy Home… which is now Sugar Pie Farmhouse. Needless to say, I loved every bit of it.

Why I love (LOVE, LOVE) it:

Where do I even begin?

Sugar Pie Farmhouse, for me, is a blog that you just sigh when you see it. Everything about the design is aesthetically appealing…From the images, to the fonts, to the colors…it is just a feast for the eyes. If I were to pinpoint a blog that I feel best represents the style I love most, this would be it. There is a mixture of vintage and farmhouse and even lodge. Everything about it makes you feel right at home.

But that is just first impressions. The content of the posts will keep you coming back.  Each post is quality, well-thought out and filled with wisdom. Aunt Ruthie is full of encouragement, positivity and sweet goodness. It is a rarity to come across writing that is so clearly a reflection on a person’s heart and character, especially one so abundantly full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness. Indeed, through each season, there is a bumper crop of spiritual fruit in constant bloom with Aunt Ruthie.

Every time I read a post, I always think (and I’m sure my hubby has heard this from me on more than one occasion haha) that Aunt Ruthie is such an anointed writer… conveying God’s love in such a relevant, applicable, appealing way… that she absolutely needs to write a book for a large scale audience. And I stand by that. :)

Needless to say, I was overjoyed to see her release an E-Book called, “Watermelon and Fireflies: 51 Farm Fresh Ideas For Celebrating the Good Ol’ Summertime”.  Click here for more on that! She is offering 25% off the price until midnight tonight (June 30th).

Final Thoughts:

Sugar Pie Farmhouse is a big ol’ slice of delightful. It proves the point that quality is so much more appealing than quantity, when it comes to post frequency. However, I must warn you… that when a new post from Aunt Ruthie pops up in your reader, you will be as giddy as a schoolgirl… like a kid in a candy store… and if you had a tail, it would be wagging. But don’t take my word for it, go see for yourself.

This one is a gem.
