Welcome to the 9th Edition of In the blogLight!
It’s about time I feature a fashion blogger, right?
But not just a fashion blogger, a complete lifestyle blogger. After all, the definition of a Quaintrelle is:
A woman who emphasizes a life of passion expressed through personal style, leisurely pastimes, charm, and cultivation of life’s pleasures. Sounds dandy, right?
How I Found It:
Well, I pretty much talked her into starting it. 😉 That’s about as much credit as I can take though. Emily has taken a her blog from it’s humble beginning into a plethora of opportunity. (Which has been well deserved)
For those of you who do not know, Emily is my sister. But let me be clear: I am not featuring her out of obligation or a sense of duty. I am featuring her because she is hugely talented and her blog is a reflection of her fashion artistry.
What I Love About It:
We couldn’t be more different in our styles. And, strangely, that is what I love about it. You would have thought that two sisters, raised by the same parents, in the same environment, exposed to the same things, sharing a room for almost ten years, would turn out somewhat similar. But not at all, haha. And not in a bad way. I do not have the creative fashion capacity to style outfits the way she can. I appreciate her ability to be unique in a culture that encourages us all to look the same. And more than just a pretty outfit, she can figure out fashion like it is a sudoku puzzle. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy shopping and clothes and accessories and all things girlie…but Emily is on a whole other level. Trust me on that.
You may remember a feature I did on one of her Runway to Hallway posts a while ago. That is one of my favorite features that she does. She will take a runway collection and show you how to make it work with similar (non expensive) pieces that you probably already have in your closet. Here is more those. She also makes tutorials on makeup and hair (she’s a licensed cosmetologist) as well as features such as “Wisdom Wednesday” . Tons of fun, always something new and inspirational.
There are a gazillion reasons to go pay her blog a visit, but I’ll sum it up with just a few:
1. She’s my sister. My friends are her friends and she would be delighted to meet you.
2. It’s her birthday today. Go wish her a happy birthday. 😉
3. You will be inspired. Period.
4. Go. You won’t be sorry.
It’s no secret that I love Etsy. And it is seriously no secret that I love to bake. Needless to say, the two of those together are a very dangerous combination. Am i just about losing my marbles for all of these sweet accessories. Here is a sampler of my favorites*:

In other business, and while we are on the topic of sweets, my friend Kati makes the most adorable cookies called Kati’s Cookies.
You have to go check her out! And while you are at it, like her facebook fan page. Once she reaches 100 followers (she is almost there!) she is giving away cookies! Now that is what I’m talking about! 😉
