Warning! Cuteness overload may occur. Proceed with caution.
Yes. Today is Dolly’s birthday. How do I even remember my dog’s birthday, one might ask. Easy. I have an uncanny ability to remember random dates, particularly birthdays. Not surprisingly, I don’t have the same recall for historical dates or math equations or the date (or time) of my next hair appointment without writing it down. But ask me what my 3rd grade best friend’s birthday is (whom I lost touch with when I was…oh…8 years old) or my dog’s birthday and you better believe I will remember. I know. I’m odd.
But since I DO remember… we shall celebrate Dolly!
Miss Dolly was born in Boise, Idaho on January 7, 2007… I had been browsing for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel forever and finally decided to buy a little guy from South Dakota with perfect markings. But! A day or two after I bought him, I found this floppy eared little girl Cavalier… and immediately I knew she was my Dolly.

So I ended up adopting BOTH of them. (I really wanted to get two anyway… so it worked out perfectly).
Dolly arrived in early April. She took a plane ride from Boise to California and I picked her up at the airport. She was so cute in her little travel kennel… so curious and full of energy!

Dolly was just the cutest thing I had ever seen!
I took her home and boy oh boy was that little puppy full of energy. I remember thinking I can’t believe I have another one of these on the way! Luckily for me, Dallas was much more calm and cuddly when he was a puppy.
Dolly liked to play.
And was curious about everything.
…including the camera.
But she was so darn cute…you just had to love her.

Her ears still get in the water bowl when she drinks. She can’t help it… they are just so floppy.
Dolly loves her treats.
Dolly is with Toby (my mom’s cavalier) below.

Silly Dolly.
Play time makes you tired…

Dolly has such a unique personality. a BIG personality.
She loves to blog.
…and to take car rides.
She likes bones twice the size of her.
…not to eat or even chew on. Just to have in her possession.
Dolly loves dressing up.
…for about a day. Then we take it off.
She even lets you know when she eats all of her food and would like seconds.
But most of all…
… she loves her brother Dallas.
They are such good buddies.

Happy 3rd Birthday to my little Dolly with a big personality!
May your food bowl always be full, may the dog treats flow like milk and honey and may your ears grow twice as long this year. Amen.
Eat a piece of cake in honor of Dolly today!
(You have her permission!)

Happy Birthday Dolly!! Hehe
