I have been considering cutting my hair for a while. A long while. But I have waited out my impulsive urge to cut my hair… thinking that if it grows a little bit, I might like it better longer. I grew up always having long hair…and kept it that way until my senior year in high school. (which I cut it shoulder length and thought that was short. haha) After that first “major” cut, I had never been one to play it safe with my hair. I used to change it up all the time. My hair has been pretty much every length and color there is.

Of course, I had always envisioned long hair for my wedding… so I grew it out and left it long for at least 6 months after the wedding. {Then I cut it into a Pob  (The posh bob) which I have kept now for almost a year.} For some reason, I feel panic at the thought of cutting my hair short…like I am somehow going to regret all of the progress I have made in growing it out again. I guess I have romanticized long hair in my mind… forgetting all of the reasons I curse it when I have it… it takes forever to dry, I never feel like I have a “style”…I always end up throwing it up, etc.  I always feel so refreshed when I cut it short.

Now that you are up to speed with the past… let me explain my current dilemma:

37

The clip.

My hair is now long enough to be put up in the clip.

Meaning my hair is always up in the clip.

I can’t resist the temptation.

Hair. Must. Be. Cut.

Need. Style. Now.

And I need your help since I can’t make up my mind with what I want.

To give you some background knowledge to make an informed decision (and taking the risk of looking absolutely narcissistic)… I’ll show you a variety of hairstyles that I have had.

301: Long, blonde curly hair circa late 90s.

2:  I chopped my hair short and added more low lights.

3: My pixie cut. Surprisingly, this was not the shortest I’ve had it. It was really blonde then.

4: After growing it out a little… I cut it short again… this time going a dark red with blonde highlights.

5: A little longer here. I had to tone down the highlights when I was a flight attendant.

316: Added a little more of a side swept bang and flipped it out.

7: On my way to growing it out again. Lightened back up to a dark blonde.

8: Yeah. Lost my marbles and went really blonde.

9. And then really red.

10. Back to dark blonde/light brown a few months later.

3211. In the process of growing it out. I had been back to dark for a while.

12. At the longest it had been since high school. I was ready for a change.

13. And a change i got! This is the Pob I had wanted.

14. And I really liked it compared to my long hair.

15. Current. UGH. Seriously. It’s growing out, losing it’s shape and desperately needs a style! To my defense, it was extremely windy when this was taken. My hair was blowing around like a lone tumbleweed across the Arizona desert.

Now that you have an idea of where my hair has been… let me show you where I might want it to go.

Style 1: Trim it up and keep the basic Posh Bob A line style.

33

Style 2: Shorter! Keep it a little longer in front, but go shorter in back. Not so A-line-ish anymore.

34

Style 3: Short and wispy! Make it more piece-y! Keep a bang that frames your face.

35

Style 4: Go for it! Crop it short!

36

Remember…I’ve been all of these lengths.

Nothing will shock me. I’m not scared of short. Hair grows back.

My hair is naturally curly/wavy. It is not super curly so I don’t have a hard time styling shorter hair. If nothing else, it gives my hair a little bit of body when short (but is a pain in the neck to make perfectly straight when long).

Don’t hold back.

Honest opinion is needed here!

Go ahead.

Cast your votes!

My hair’s future depends on it!

Thanks!

Holy moly… have I been living in a cave or what? So I was looking at Zazzle.com at all of the custom Keds shoes and was falling in love with all sorts of different designs (If you are a fan of Huckleberry Prairie on Facebook… you know what I’m talking about… and I apologize. haha).

So I began to investigate… and anyone can customize their own Keds shoes!

Want to see mine?

Ok, so it is my twitter background.

and I made them in 30 seconds.

That’s not the point.

Or maybe it is.

Yes. That is exactly the point.

You can literally create anything you want.  In 30 seconds.

I think I might want some Huckleberry Prairie shoes.

They cost $60 to buy your design.

I might have to start a “Huckleberry Prairie Shoes” jar and save up for some.

Just thought I’d share the fun with y’all.

Go make your own.

Or pre-order your Huckleberry Prairie shoes. haha.

Oh C’mon.

Everybody’s doing it.

You don’t want to be the only one without red and white polka dot shoes… with all sorts of fun hearts, flowers, stars, thimbles and cowboy boots. On sneakers. And shoes like that are versatile. They go with everything. You’d be silly not to buy them.

One day, right? haha

Tuesdays are military discount day at our Goodwill… 20% off everything. Yeehaw!

So it only makes sense to make my weekly Goodwill trip on Tuesdays. And, let me tell you, I always find treasures on my Tuesday trips. Let me show you what deals I got this week:

Dress #1:

171819I have never owned a dress of this style… and for some reason I feel like it would be something Stacey and Clinton from What Not to Wear would pick out. It hides the problem areas and is flattering on. And it is a fun print.

Brand: New York & Co.

Price: $3.51

Dress #2:

21I just could not help but be drawn to this dress! It is so spring/summery and it probably comes as no surprise that I love me some polka dots! It was just fun.

Brand: Sweet

Price: $3.51

Dress #3:

2223I really liked this dress, too! I am imagining some black tights and boots… but the charcoal color is pretty versatile.

Brand: fire los angeles

Price: $3.51

Pants #1

24

25

Just a classic pair of black slacks. Practically brand new… just needs to be hemmed but that’s easy.

Brand: Daisy Fuentes

Price: $3.00

And my fun finds:

Vintage Curtains!! I am recycling all sorts of fun things… curtains, pillowcases, etc. into aprons!

Curtain #1:

14I just loved the yellow ruffle with flower lace! It’s going to make a delightful apron!

Price: $1.65

Curtain #2:

1516I saw this pair of curtains last week and wanted them but didn’t want to pay$6.50 for the pair. But look at the eyelet and the scallops. And yellow! This week all of the green tags were 50% off (plus my military 20%)…and these curtains just happened to be a green tag! Needless to say, I was pleased as punch!

Price:$2.63

Vase…

26I just thought this guy was too cute.

Price: $1.19

All of this…

3 dresses

1 pair of slacks

3 panels of curtains

1 glass vase

…for a grand total of $19.00!

Not too shabby, eh? :)

Happy Thrifting!
