Day 6

We got up early again to go running.

It was a nice day at the park.

We were a little disappointed that the splash park part was undergoing maintenance, but we survived. ; )

We came home from the park and got ready to go to Panera.

The spouse’s club was having lunch there today.

I had to wake Layla up from her nap to go, so needless to say, she was exhausted.

I just decided to come home and let her get her nap after we were done.

Layla wanted nothing to do with sleep once we got home.

She wanted to show off her mad skills of NO HANDS on the table! ;)

Who needs to hold on to a table when you have this headband to chew on?!

She was balancing so well!

She used the back of the couch to hold her up when she would lose her balance.

Look at her point that toe! haha

Those legs!

Hello there.

Time to play with the snail.

Look at those arms go!!

Hey! Snail! Where do you think you’re going!?

Looking at her reflection. ;)

Showing off her flexibility. ;)

Those lips! And cheeks!!

Crawling!

And then it was time for dinner.

Prunes.

Enough said.

Prunes are delicious.

Don’t judge me. -Layla

Do you know what else looks delicious?

That camera.

Give it to me!

In. My. Mouth.

Such a look of distress.

She really is a good looking baby. :)

Then it was time for my dinner.

Chicken fajita salad.

Nothing processed.

Just vegetables and chicken.

I need a cheeseburger. Stat.

haha

(It’s not that bad…yet)

And more play time.

I think Layla might be teething again. She has been super whiny/fussy/needy today.

She wants to be picked up, then when I pick her up she wants me to put her down.

She really doesn’t know what she wants!

After several tries, I got her to sleep around 9:45.

I am going to bed early tonight since we are running again in the morning.

And that was our day!

Day 5

Today was a busy day for us!

We got up and played a little bit, had breakfast and then Layla got a bath.

She was obviously just plum tuckered out from her relaxing bath.

She couldn’t even wait for me to iron her shirt before she took a nap!

Once Peanut woke up, we headed to Visalia for some errands.

We stopped back by Borders to see if they had any discounted cookbooks.

They didn’t.

But Peanut had a hoot of a time crawling all over the store.

So much of a hoot that she threw a wild fit when I tried to pick her up.

And I mean screaming.

Toddlers and Tiaras style.

I finally gave her keys to put in her mouth and we left.

She is definitely starting to catch on how to get her way.

It is a battle of wills.

And I will not lose.

DO YOU HEAR THAT PEANUT??

I will NOT lose!

:)

She fell asleep on the way back to Hanford, so I figured her nap may have put her in a better mood.

So we gave Target a try.

She did well for the first half…

and then turned into a screamopotamus.

We wrapped things up and then stopped by the grocery store.

Not because I wanted to, but because there is nothing to eat at the house.

I wanted to make it a really quick trip.

I didn’t even have a list.

I decided I would only shop from the perimeter departments.

Produce and Meat.

A ridiculous attempt to be healthy.

Wish me luck for meals.

This could get ugly.

Peanut was mad the whole way home…

and then her tune changed as soon as she got into everything back at the house.

Then she was just as pleased as punch!

She was all over the place.

Of course, her normal fight for bedtime ensued after that…nothing new there.
I am ready for bed! I have a big day of running tomorrow! Wish me luck.

Day 4

Today we got up early, really early, to start our Couch to 5k.

Amy came over and we walked to the park.

Then we ran.

And walked.

And ran. FOREVER.

(Or at least it seemed.)

My hip flexors  still haven’t forgiven me.

It was hot out.

Especially after running.

The splash park looked so inviting.

Go ahead. Judge away.

I had to cool down before I died.

All of the water commotion woke Layla up.

Not to fear, she fell back asleep as soon as we got home.

She took a nice long nap.

All of my running really tuckered her out.

Miss Bed Head.

She woke up completely rejuvenated and ready to get into everything!

Trouble is written all over her face.

haha.

Her cute little bed head.

…and those pouty lips!

There is no time to waste!

Must get something in my mouth!

…Now!

This lid is delicious.

We played.

And then Layla joined me in the kitchen in her bumbo.

That grin is more than I can take!

Back to her play area so she could balance between the table and the couch:

She loves when you blow air through a straw on her face. haha

I can’t even stand it when she starts talking… it is so cotton pickin’ cute!

Layla went to bed around 11 after several attempts to get her to sleep before then. I’m hoping that she will sleep well and through the night since she had such an exciting day. :)
