A Spring Picnic Baby Shower

It’s baby shower time for Baby Owen (and his mama)!

My sister, Jessica, is having baby number 3… Baby Owen! What better way to celebrate than a Springtime “Picnic” Themed baby shower? Janelle graciously hosted the party at her house and Sarah from Itsy Bitsy Photography captured all of the details perfectly…

There were lots of delightful treats. Janelle made cookies and lemon cupcakes.

I made a sampler of mini pies: Cherry Blueberry, Apple Crumb and Banana Cream.

DeBran is responsible for this delicious feast. Emphasis on delicious.

And a feast it was.

I may or may not be responsible for that ridiculous pie card.

If you are having an event in Southern California… do yourself a favor and have DeBran and her Chef husband, Kenny, cater. Oh. Em. Gee.  is all I have to say.

Here we are. Host and Co-hosts.

And the guests of honor… Jessica and Owen.

Outdoor picnic tables.

Janelle made homemade Strawberry Jam for favors. Yummy!

We played a few games…

Delight your eyes on these adorable handmade coasters that DeBran made!

Be still my heart.

Love them.

I made a strawberry ruffle apron for one of the prizes…

Jessica got an array of delightful gifts….

a sampler of handmade afghans and quilts:

An adorable choo choo:

I designed this little number.

Jessica’s husband is a Real Estate/Mortgage Broker so I felt it was only appropriate. ;)

Jessica has a few months on me. ;)

The Family… Me, Emily, Jessica and Mom.

For another account of the shower… Jessica has a few more pics up on her Party Love blog, and so does Janelle.

All in all… it was quite a hoot, if I do say so myself.

Now it is just time for baby Owen to make his grand arrival! :)

Love those pies! Would you share your recipe?

Up here in the north country we always do showers after the babe is born…I think this way is so much better because momma isn’t exhausted with a newborn!

These photos are fantastic! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Melissa. What a darling shower! Love the strawberry jam favors, your pies and your little ‘save your fork’ signs. :) You look great. Congratulations on having a sweet little girl. I’m partial with two of my own. Enjoy those little flutters…they’re truly a blessing!
