Yes. I am serious.
My pumpkin has a weave.
A ribbon weave.

And yours can too!
Just follow this easy DIY tutorial and give your pumpkin a little ribbon weave! (It looks kind of difficult…don’t be fooled! Its not!)
Step 1:
Start with an unfinished wood pumpkin. These can be found at JoAnns, Michaels, Hobby Lobby or online at Crafts, etc.

Step 2:
Pick out no less than three ribbons.
They can be different sizes and textures.
There is nothing wrong with a little Mix and Match…

Step 3:
Fire up the glue gun!
Glue ribbon around the edges of the pumpkin as shown below with the orange and white polka dot ribbon… to give it a nice smooth edge.
Cut ribbons a little longer than the width of the pumpkin.
Dab a bit of hot glue on the left side only.

Arrange ribbons vertically down the pumpkin by gluing just the left hand side. This will allow us to weave later.

Step 4:
Cut ribbons a little longer than the pumpkin length wise.
Begin weaving, over then under, and dabbing with hot glue with each weave.

Step 5:
Continue to keep weaving over and under, making your way across the pumpkin, securing the ribbon in place with hot glue.

Step 6.
Pull excess ribbon tight and hot glue to the back of the pumpkin.
Wrap a single ribbon around the stem, securing with hot glue.

Your pumpkin will thank you for it’s terrific new ribbon weave!

Add it to a collection of pumpkins, sit it on a shelf… put it on a yard stake or hang it with ribbon… there is so many things you can do with a pumpkin with a weave!
Happy Fall Y’all,
